Use AysOps on your phone or tablet
What this does
Section titled “What this does”On a phone, AysOps puts what you need on the road within reach of your thumb: today’s appointments with directions and a call button, and a + button to add a photo, an expense or a note while you’re on site. On a tablet you get the full menu, folded into a narrow strip of icons.
On a phone
Section titled “On a phone”The bottom bar
Section titled “The bottom bar”Along the bottom of the screen:
- Today: your appointments for today, what’s waiting on you, and overdue invoices.
- Calendar: your calendar. On a phone it opens on one day at a time (Day); Mon–Fri, Week and Month are there too.
- +: add a photo, an expense or a note (see below).
- Customers: your customer list.
- Actions: your to-do list. The orange number is how many things need your attention.
The menu
Section titled “The menu”Tap the menu button at the top left, beside the AysOps logo. The menu opens over the page. Tap a page to go there. Today, Calendar, Customers and Actions aren’t in the menu because they’re on the bottom bar. Pages with their own sub-pages (such as Mileage and Vehicles) have an arrow on the right: tap it to show them.
Near the bottom of the menu is Cases, where our replies to your support questions appear. While a reply is unread, the menu button has a small red dot and Cases shows a red number. See Support cases.
At the bottom of the menu you’ll find your name, Company (if you belong to more than one company; switching opens the new company on Today) and Sign out.
Some pages aren’t in the phone menu because they’re easier to use on a computer: Recurring Charges, QuickBooks, Online booking, Add-ons, Team, Reports and Settings. They still open on a phone if you follow a link to them, for example from an email.
Today lists your appointments in order, each with:
- Directions: opens the address in your maps app (on-site visits).
- Join call: opens the video call (remote appointments with a link).
- Call: calls the customer’s phone number.
- Open in calendar: shows the appointment in your calendar.
- The customer’s name: opens the customer.
Below that are the first few things Waiting on you and, if you can see invoices, any Overdue invoices. A booking a customer made online for today shows up here too.
Add a photo, expense or note
Section titled “Add a photo, expense or note”Tap + in the middle of the bottom bar, then:
- Take a photo: opens your camera. Choose photos: pick one or more from your phone. Either way they’re saved to Photos & Files as photos, under Unassigned, ready for you to assign to a customer or job later. A message at the bottom says when they’re saved.
- Expense: opens a new expense, where you can add the receipt.
- Note: pick the customer, write the note, then tap Save note. It’s added to that customer’s Notes & Actions.
- Help & feedback: ask us a question or report a problem. See Get help.
You only see the add options your role allows. Help & feedback is always there.
On a tablet
Section titled “On a tablet”The menu on the left shows only icons, to leave room for the page. To see the page names, tap the button at the top of the strip: the full menu opens over the page. Tap a page, tap outside the menu, or press Escape to close it.
Good to know
Section titled “Good to know”- Popups fill the whole screen on a phone.
- A page’s explanation (for example “Two kinds” on Projects) is folded away on a phone to save room. Tap About this page to show it, and Hide to fold it again.
- On a phone there is no round help button: it’s Help & feedback in the + menu, so it doesn’t cover the buttons on your lists. On a tablet the round button is at the bottom right.
